A Traditional of Outstanding Cardiovascular Care

The South Texas Cardiovascular Consultants include some of the area's most accomplished physicians. In fact, many are frequently chosen to participate in medical investigations for new cardiac procedures, devices, and medications and are among the first in South Texas to have performed several new procedures which provide innovative alternatives to surgery, including:
  • Laser Assisted Angioplasty
  • Coronary Atherectomy
  • Intracoronary Stent Placement
  • Intracoronary Rotoblation
  • Aortocoronary Bypass Surgery
  • Electrophysiology Studies
  • Radiofrequency Ablation
  • Automatic Implantable Defibrillators
South Texas Cardiovascular Consultants have cared for more than 6,000 patients who have undergone operations, including coronary bypass, valve repair, replacement of the aorta, and cardiac transplant. The mortality rates of these procedures are well below the norm when compared to the national average.
The Professional Staff

Diane Z.  Greiner
After obtaining her board certification in cardiology and internal medicine and completing her commitment with the Air Force, Dr. Greiner eagerly began practicing cardiology with South Texas Cardiovascular Consultants in 2003.

Eugene P. Haddock
After a long career as an interventional cardiologist, Dr. Haddock now enjoys devoting all his skill and attention to office-based patient evaluations and outpatient testing.

Laura O. Jacobs
Board certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular diseases, Dr. Jacobs' love of cardiology springs from her ability to make an impact on chronic diseases such as coronary disease, heart failure and hypertension. She found that cardiology was the one area where a patient’s disease process could be significantly affected.

Kenneth M. Leclerc
After prior work as a registered nurse and obtaining a graduate degree in exercise physiology, Dr. Leclerc obtained his board certification in internal medicine and cardiology. Following his commitment with the United States Army, Dr. Leclerc joined South Texas Cardiovascular Consultants in 2004.

Charles H. Machell
Dr. Machell has seen tremendous advances in the treatment of abnormal heart rhythms. The most exciting development has been in catheter ablation, a one to two-hour procedure that first maps the electrical pathways of the heart.

Michael B. Melucci
After obtaining his board certification in cardiology and completing his commitment with the Air Force, Dr. Melucci eagerly began practicing cardiology in Kerrville.

He completed his internship and residency training in internal medicine at Emory University Hospital and then completed his cardiology fellowship at Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio, TX.
